Buying Horizon Fitness EX-57 Elliptical Trainer

When I received this item, the delivery brought it up the steps and put it in my house, no problems.
I put it together in one room, and my wife then wanted me to move it to another room. Where I had initially set it up, it worked great.
When I moved it, the place I moved it the wheels worked very well to ensure a smooth ride, if you have it up at a high enough angle. Unfortunately I set it down a little hard, the thing is heavy, and from there the problems started.
The digital display no longer functioned properly. It would not turn on unless my right foot was near the front bottom most portion of the stride, and it then shut right off.
It had developed a squeek in the move. According to the manual, it is an issue of leveling. There is no way to use a level effectively on the item, since there are no real straight lines, everything is curved or at angles. I have spent two hours trying to get it to stop squeeking, but it won't. The book states that if leveling won't fix it, then you need to completely disassemble it, grease all the joints and reassemble it. In the process of disassembly, some of the plastic guards on the hinges broke, because the snaps wouldn't come properly loose. I have disassembled it three times, and the squeeking will not go away, and customer support will do nothing about it.
Customer support is a mixed machine. When you call, you are able to leave your contact information, and maintain your position in "line", and they will call you back. After a day without a response, I called and left a second message. They called me about twelve hours after the second message, at nearly 9pm.
The tech was great about the display issue. We talked about it, I told them I thought it was a loose wire, they agreed, and sent me a new display, power adapter, and cable that attaches the two. They said to try to replace the adapter, if that didnt work then the display. If that didn't work, then to replace the cable, but if I didn't feel confident, they could get someone out to do the cable for me.
The parts arrived about three days later, with no instructions. There is a wire in the display that has to be attached that you don't have to attach during normal assembly. It ended up being the wires to the power jack having broken off. I was able to replace the cable, and it works very well.
Again, they will not do anything about the squeaking.
Aside from the squeaking, the machine is very quiet, much quieter than some other ellipticals that I have owned. The action is smooth, and the interface on the display is nice.
The heart rate monitor is complete garbage.
